Christie is a JUDAS! Right-wing comments go hateful nuts on NJ Gov. Christie for praising Obama’s leadership
This is just more exposure of what the Republican party has become and the kind of people who make up it’s base are and I make this point with their own words said to each other when they assume no one is listening.
These rightwingers are hateful. These rightwingers are anti-American. Independent voters, please vote against Romney and the GOP so he does not bring these type of people to power.

I also think Christie is in total shock. I thought he was going to cry yesterday. He grew up in Jersey and when he saw parts of the shore he’d gone to as a kid, the old shops, homes and boardwalk gone, he knew it would never be the same.

What a load of crap. Since when does giving a speech about how the federal government is going to give away billions of other people’s money represent a president’doing his job’?

4 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 5:59:06 AM by panaxanaxAdding to what I said, he’ll snap out of it soon enough, do what’s got to be done, and maybe even look stronger then Obama, making the President look weak less then one week out.

We conservatives are like abused women. Every time some basically leftist guy with a decent sized conservative streak like Romney or Christie brings flowers we swoon. Don’t forget, Massachusetts and New Jersey are mostly enemy territory.
I’ll take the flowers, for now, but I am not settling for either one of these guys long term. Anne Coulter’s endorsement of Christie notwithstanding.6 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 6:05:23 AM by anton

While it is our money and NOT obamas, he is doing what he should do with OUR money. They will report it as a gift from Obama to the people of this disaster and most will eat it up and believe it is true. The rats will use this opportunity like ghouls who feast on the dead. This is a move used by commies and dictators to the idiot masses like those whoo voted for this fraud and they will eat it all up and say thank you may I please have another? And the reply will be……..who are you voting for on tuesday?7 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 6:05:35 AM by ronnie raygun
NJ would have voted for Obama anyway, so I dont think it matters much.
That said, I think it was very bad judgment. Christie is very uneven.8 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 6:10:45 AM by livius
He’s buying votes with our money.
He couldn’t be bothered to help Texas out when they needed it.

He should have thanked the Federal government for its timely assistance and left it at that.
12 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 6:45:25 AM by MDspinboyreduxA simple, ‘He did what presidents are to do in situations such as this…’ would have sufficed. In my view, the gushing about the wonder of the president’s response to the situation speaks more about Christie’s attempt to garner praise for himself.
13 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 6:48:00 AM by MarDavI agree. Conservatives are like elephants (no pun intended). We have extremely long memories. Christie will probably eventually come to us conservatives with hat in hand wanting our votes but I, for one, will remember.

Yes, he’s devastated by his state’s devastation, but there’s no excuse for boosting Obama as he has.

16 posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 7:04:51 AM by EBHChristie was stupid to allow his state to be used as a photo op for Obama. I just heard there are some more fires today.
He should have said ‘no thanks’ because having Obama there with all the security he has to have, is a big distraction from relief efforts.
Obama has done nothing personally to help. Just sat in the WH made speeches and signed off on some FEMA aid.
No BFD!

BTW, unlike many so-called “conservative” red states, NJ has been sending billions more in taxes to DC every year than it has been receiving. Any federal aid Christie gets he does not need to beg for. It is owed, since NJ has been subsidizing DC for generations. Those of us in NJ who go to church on Sunday, raise our children, work hard every day, pay our taxes and are married to our first wives are tired of the lectures from wannabes who live in their moms’ basements and fancy themselves ideological warriors.

Which, in actuality is all he should HAVE to do.
Somewhere along the line we got misguided and made it mandatory for the Pres etc to show up and virtually ‘Get in the Way’ in times of emergency (or not).
Although Christie’s action don’t really surprise me, he almost has to ‘kiss the ring’ to make sure he gets maximum help.
I can see him ‘thanking him (for doing his job)’ but not praising him - but with an ego the size of Obama’s, a simple thank you will not do.

New Jersey should not have been sending so much money to DC in the first place, but the whole notion of states keeping their own money is long in the past, and NJ is hardly more culpable in that respect than any other state. Each of the states has enough people convinced that they will get screwed less than the other guy when Uncle Sugar “gives back” a bit of his protection money; whether NJ is “owed” more may or may not be true, but getting it back always seems to involve a little groveling at the master’s feet.Should Gov. Christie have to beg for anything? Hell, no. But he’s not in a position to play the alpha male vis-a-vis Barack Obama, and he knows it. He knows very well what Barack Obama does to states needing disaster relief when their governors do not pay tribute to him (ask Texas about that), and he is not the man - nor is he in an office that makes it possible - to do what a lot of FReepers would have liked. He appears to know his limitations, and he is acting more or less in line with my expectations, if not my personal preferences.
That is my opinion, and if it makes me one of the “clowns,” so be it.

Next thing I know he has invited Obamer to tour NJ. How come he got so interested when Obama asked to tour NJ and not wanting Romney to tour NJ. It doesn’t make sense why he was so hostile to Romney.

the Libtard media infrastructure in Manhattan
This phrase is a perfect example of the foolishness that undermines the conservative movement. When people use really unintelligent, made-up words like “Libtard” and “Rethuglican”, normal people tend to just filter anything they have to say out.
Words like that are a signal that means: “this person is about to recite unreflective political talking points.”
“Leftist”, “liberal”, “biased” etc. are all perfectly serviceable English words.
And there are conservative-leaning media outlets in Manhattan too, by the way. Like the National Review, the NY Post, Fox News and Rush Limbaugh’s radio show.
I remember a Free Republic when a piece of liberal “reportage” would be carefully dissected and analyzed by a dozen knowledgeable conservatives with industry backgrounds. The analysis here of the Benghazi incident - in between all the useless chest-beating noise of “Impeach the Muslim!!!” - has been very insightful and of the old FR standard.
Learn a lesson.

There are literally hundreds of such comments on many threads (freerepublic.com). I think the above is enough to get the point across. I liked ending with the comments from “wideawake” a NJ conservative who suddenly finds that he needs govt and can’t understand all the nutty comments from his fellow Freepers being against Federal aid coming to his state’s rescue. He learned a lesson indeed.
